STORY
Szarvasi Iron and Metal Industrial Cooperative
Reflecta is a lighting collection rooted in the legacy of the former Hungarian manufacturer Szarvasi Iron and Metal Industrial Cooperative Through extensive research into its history, the project draws inspiration from a factory that played a defining role in shaping everyday object culture during the socialist era. In the 1960s and 70s, large-scale industrial production made modern design accessible to households across Hungary.
ABOUT
A personal connection to Szarvas was the starting point of this project, developed as a graduation work at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. It became an investigation into the history of the local factory, its role in Hungarian design culture, and what it could represent today.
